How we work

Stiles Civil Engineering is a principal-led civil engineering firm. The engineer who scopes a project is the one who designs it, coordinates it, seals it, and sits in the meetings. Calls and emails are answered by the next business day. Our target is resubmittals within ten business days of comments; when a review adds a study or third-party work, you get the revised date before we start, not after. Based in Fort Worth and serving developers across Texas, with approval experience in Dallas–Fort Worth and Austin.

How we staff a project

Every site gets a defined team. We bring in the survey, subsurface utility engineering, geotechnical, and landscape consultants the project needs and coordinate them under one point of contact, so nothing falls between firms. When a schedule calls for more hands, we add partner civil engineers working under our direction. Survey and SUE deliverables are managed by an engineer who started in surveying.

Rick Stiles, P.E.

Principal

Rick began in land surveying, moved into civil design, and grew into project management and engineer-of-record responsibility on multifamily and commercial sites in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin. He has sealed multifamily projects, designed offsite utility extensions up to about a mile long, and designed gas distribution mains for a Texas utility.
